There is still ice along the coast line of the Park despite the middle of June. The ice melts slowly in the bays. It’s a favorite fishing time for the local people from the new cracks. You can fish even in the night – we have a Polar day! Arctic Cod and Saffron Cod is the favorite meal for Eskimo and Chukchi people.
