“Pacific Network” cruise company and its ship “Clipper Odyssey” opened tourist season in Providenia. About 120 passengers walked along the streets, visited some shops, the museum of Beringia Heritage and nice performance in Cultural Centre.
Then there was a small voyage to Slavyanka bay and Plover spit. All these are in Provideniya bay. Plover got its name after English captain Thomas Moore, who came here in 1848 and spent a winter.
There was an Eskimo village till 1950. After stone avalanche people were moved to different othere villages.
Rich Pagen was a leader of bird-watchers group. They could see some rare species here. Also there were people who fond of flowers.
The park superintendent Natalia Kalyuzhina went to Plover to check condition of the ancient settlement.
