The “Paris-New-York- Transcontinental” international expedition team has come to Provideniya. Their goal is to cross the Bering Strait by cars. But now the crew is repairing their vehicles. Everybody from Provideniya went on week-end to look at hi-end equipped cars. The residents concluded that this is the very transport for our tundra. The nature-fans think the same and wonder why nobody from officials in our country pays attention to the problem of use caterpillar transport. The tracks keep on destroying fragile Arctic nature. Right now all the caterpillars are private, used in trade and nobody thinks about nature preserve. We envy to these travelers a little – we’d like such vehicles for different nature-preserve institutions!
By the way, inspector Ivan Vukvun, who has grand vital experience doesn’t advise to cross the strait in February. There is a strong ice move. The best time is March – the ice is quiet.
