The chief headmaster of Wild nature preserve center A. Zimenko (Moscow) became the leading speaker at the seminar “Chukotka guardians”. It took place here in Provideniya from 15th to 22nd of May. This event was organized by the Red Cross of Chukotka and park “Beringia”. Its goal was to prepare people and inspectors to protect nature. There were lectures about contemporary ecological problems and tendencies, Chukotka nature heritage, conditions and protection of Chukotka wild life.
The main participants were inhabitants of Provideniya, members of Eskimo society “Yupik”, students of the trade school, research workers from the Museum of Beringia heritage, representatives from different federal institutions connecting with fish, sea mammals, borders.
Aleksey Zimenko spent one day in Novoe Chaplino community. Local people were very interested in nature protection problems. There was a good discussion among Aleksey and sea mammal hunters. The topic of the seminar was so interesting that Eskimo society “Yupik” invited him to their office.
There was an extraordinary way to present information – imitation games “Compas”, “Fishing”, which were devoted to the problems natural recourses management.
